Since I’ve owned the car the indicator stalk would not stay on for the right direction.  This is a common issue on this generation of Mustangs.

There is a small plastic tab that breaks off.  Luckily its an easy fix.  The old indicator unit is removed and a new one installed.  The hardest part is taking the pins out of the plug as the plug is reused.  Also the plug will not fit through the steering column tube.  The inside of the steering column was rather mucky, looks like thats not been opened for many years.

Although its a small thing its nice to be able to go around a round about and not having to hold the indicator stalk at the same time.
